Vision Correction Financing Options in San Diego
Does Insurance Cover My Procedure?
There are a few insurance companies that cover Vision Correction or elective procedures, however, most do not. We will be glad to make a copy of your insurance card and check coverage for you at the time of your evaluation or consultation.
What are my financing options?
Vision Correction Procedures, Facial Rejuvenation or any surgical procedure requiring payment in advance, can be paid for in a number of ways. We offer financing through various financial institutions ensuring different plans and interest rates so you can choose one that best fits your needs. A multitude of options are offered including 2-to-5-year financing plans and no payment for 60 days. Please ask for further details or an application.
Applying for financing consists of a very short form, literally taking less than 5 minutes. The form is then submitted via fax, and in most cases, authorization guaranteeing your funds is issued within 20 minutes! Interest rates and down payment requirements are solely dependent upon credit rating.
Many patients also have “Flex” or “Cafeteria” plans through their employer, which allows them to pay for these procedures with pre-tax dollars. We can assist you with the necessary paperwork. Contact your Human Resources Department for availability and enrollment requirements. We also accept cash, debit cards, personal checks and most major cards (i.e., VISA, Master Card, Discover, and American Express).

Health Insurance vs. Vision Insurance: What’s the Difference?
Understanding which insurance applies to your eye care visit can feel confusing. That’s why we created this short video to explain the difference between health insurance and vision insurance, and when each one is used.
Both health and vision insurance play an important role in keeping your eyes healthy and your vision clear:
- Health insurance generally covers medical eye exams and treatments related to eye health — such as glaucoma, cataracts, or eye injuries.
- Vision insurance helps with how you see day-to-day. It often covers routine eye exams, prescription glasses, contact lenses, and other vision services.
- Some plans (like Medicare) may cover certain medical services but not routine refraction tests for glasses prescriptions.
- Even if adult vision benefits aren’t included, most health plans provide children’s vision services.
To make the most of your benefits, please:
- Bring both your health insurance card and, if you have one, your vision insurance card to your appointment.
- Provide a printed list of all current medications.
- Ask our friendly staff any questions — we’re here to help.
