Eyeglasses & Contact Lenses in San Diego
If you are nearsighted, farsighted or have astigmatism, you have more corrective eyewear options than ever. Our team at Eye Care of San Diego will gladly help you select the glasses or contact lenses that make the most sense for your visual needs, eye physiology, lifestyle and budget. Our optical departments feature quality products at reasonable prices, and our customer service is second-to-none. Our optometrists want you to feel comfortable with the process of selecting your eyewear, and pleased with your final choice.
Glasses
Our optical departments stock classic standard lenses, bifocals as well as progressive lenses. Other lenses are available with special features to eliminate common glasses-related visual issues, like digital eye strain and glare. For example, blue-blocking lenses can make computer work more comfortable by reducing your exposure to the blue light that is emitted from digital devices. Another great innovation is anti-reflective coatings, which eliminate glare and reflection. Or, transition lenses can take you from indoors to outdoors without switching your glasses out for sunglasses. Of course, we offer lenses for your glasses that will filter out harmful UV light to lessen your risk of vision conditions like cataracts and macular degeneration.
Our team will also help you find frames that are comfortable and reflect your personality and taste. We offer a wide range of frames in many different brands and at all price points.
Contact Lenses
Our optometrists have vast experience working with conventional contact lenses as well as custom-fit contact lenses for special visual needs such as monovision, high levels of astigmatism, keratoconus and corneal transplant cases.
Contact lenses come in different materials, including hydrogel and silicone hydrogel. They may be spherical, meaning they have the same power throughout the entire lens, or multifocal, with different powers in different portions of the lens. Toric lenses are designed with different powers in different meridians to correct astigmatism. Bifocal contacts can correct both presbyopia (the age-related loss of reading vision) and astigmatism. Scleral lenses can be used to treat keratoconus and other corneal irregularities. Some contact lenses are intended for daily wear, meaning they must be removed every night, whereas “extended wear” contacts can be worn overnight for up to seven days.Certain lenses come with special features, like UV protection or colors to enhance your natural eye color.
We will help you find the material and design that is best for your visual needs and your unique eye shape. We want your lenses to fit your eye and feel comfortable. We can also review the premium features that certain lenses have and determine whether they may be of benefit to you. With our vast experience, we can help you achieve and maintain clear vision for life with corrective eyewear.
